The Drive-In of DOOM! – Spider-Man
Hello and welcome to the first DOOM movie commentary podcast hosted by Aaron Poole and JJ Hawkins. Fresh off a conversation in a recent Mars Needs Podcasts, the DOOM’ed Duo are here to provide a monthly commentary on superhero flicks. This month the movie is 2002’s Spider-Man starring Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, Willem Dafoe, and James Franco. Will it hold up, or will the pair throw it on the scrap heap and hope that the reboot proves to be the salvation of the beloved superheroic icon?

As a bonus, you can play the drinking game! Every time Aaron says “Boobs” take a drink. (Doom does not condone the consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors, the drinking game is to be played by those over the legal age in your respective countries) (also, Aaron says boobs a lot, so get some food in your stomach and get a good night’s sleep) (also, when is the last time you called home? Your mother misses you) (also, don’t forget to floss, you only get one set of teeth.) (offer void where prohibited)

I went down to Target today and picked up the flick and watched it this afternoon. Got it for $4.75 but had to go to two different Targets because they were sold out at one store. Thankfully the other had 1 left! I think everyone heard about this podcast and ran out and bought it! lol! I love at the beginning Aaron calls the podcast “the Doom Drive-Thru”! I wish I had read about the drinking game before I started it though. I could have done it tonight and played along. Alas, maybe next time. Strangely enough I had some syncing problems. There were a couple of time you guys got a head of me so I had to pause you and let the movie catch up. Who edited this? My suggestions for the next flick ya do would be any of the x-men movies aside from Wolverine since I sent my copy to Jasmine after we reviewed it on my show back in the day. Or Iron-Man 2 because it is streaming on Netflix right now.
We’ll definitely do both the Batman films and the X-Men films at some point. Maybe not next month though. Have something a bit different in mind so far.
Damn fun commentary, boys! I can’t remember if you said it on the show or anywhere else, but would you guys be up for some animated superhero flicks?
If you guys ever get around to doing Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, I want in on that shit. I could seriously talk about that movie for hours.
I can’t imagine not doing any animated flicks, but not sure when. We are kinda doing whatever feels like a fun choice. I do love Mask of the Phantasm, though.
