JJ and his amazing friend Elizabeth have talked about pop culture and art, but this week, we do something different. JJ asked Elizabeth to read an essay she wrote on the show. You guys are in for a real treat. After the story, the two share stories of illness and injury, hey it is almost Halloween, right? The duo end the show with talk of sexism and how it effects the way we view pop culture.

That poem was sad and I don’t know why. Not sure whether it was the material or Elizabeth’s voice but I felt kinda melancholic afterwards.
On the topic of rape culture, I saw a post on Tumblr while looking for Agents of SHIELD gifs that reckoned that the show promotes rape culture. Namely the scene where “Coulson drugs Ward and leaves him in a vulnerable state in a room with a hostile individual” and when he recruits Melinda May, saying that she didn’t have a choice in the matter.
Now, I don’t pretend to know anything about sexual politics nor rape culture but I had to call bullshit on that post.
Anyways, great show guys! I listened while doing housework!
