Flash Facts – “Fast Lane”
I can’t help but feel this episode title is a bit of a misnomer.
Like, yeah, this goes into the street racing habit of young Wally but it also features Tar Pit, a remarkably one-note villain bent on revenge. Maybe a better title would be Pit Stop. Heeeey… Maybe that’s a new gimmick ala Cisco: Think up better episode titles than the show gives you!
Speaking of our wayward West, Wally gets the lion’s share of development this episode, finally dropping his guard and accepting Joe and Iris’s concern and affection. Granted, Iris has to put herself in danger and have a trip to the hospital and Joe has to go full dad but he comes around.
Team Flash is a’ight but they’re waay more in the background with very few notable moments apart from this gag.
Tar Pit is boring and while his full CGI monster form was cool, he’s very one note and the weakest part of this story.
Oh, Harry… Tom Cavanagh continues to destroy the competition with his performance, looking constantly guilty in this episode and visibly struggling with his conscience until he just can’t take it any more. I love that Barry leaps to his defence with some astounding rational thought I never really expected from this show.
Awww yeah! This is going to be fun on a bun and I can’t wait until next week for Welcome to Earth 2 but, of course, some other news this week caused a big stir for Barry…
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! The Flash/Supergirl team-up on March 28th! You know I’m going to review that episode! Until next time, Flash fans!
