Mars Needs Podcasts 105- Super Justice Sabertooth Vampire

JJ and his amazing friend Jason survive a brief encounter with a bit of 80’s pop soul. When the two stumble away lightly dazed, JJ is scared by the odd fiery mass in the sky, as it has been missing from the Pacific Northwest for some time. The duo then get to business and talk about last week’s trip to Stumptown Comics Fest. While JJ was there he picked up a book you need to pick up as well, Darius Logan: Super Justice Force. Look for it at www.superjusticeforce.com! Also, JJ talks about his love of the wonderful Saber Tooth Vampire by cartoonist Mike Russell. At Stumptown, Mr. Russell had printed copies of the little vampires adventures. JJ picked up a copy, and this week he is giving two away to the listeners as well. How do I win, you may ask..well listen to the episode to find out. To check out the season two adventures of the Saber Tooth Vamire, check out www.culturepulp.typepad.com

Speaking of Mama Cass Eliot Back in the ’70s, think of the people who were producing kids TV, they were people who were college kids in the ’60s. They consists of Two types, stoners and do gooders. Scooby doo was probably made by stoners who probably thought Mama Cass was still relevant. Do gooders made shows like the original super friends and ark 2.

In England I am not sure this was the case. The only show I have any familiarity with is Doctor Who and I don’t think the Tardis is a drug reference.

The Tardis is totally a drug reference! When I’m in an alley behind the 7Eleven, I always ask my friend Terry if he can “Pass me another one of those Tradises”.

For the curious, a Tardis is usually a football stuffed with PCP — but if we’re on hard times, sometimes we substitute in a football stuffed with cocaine and fiberglass.

  3. Will says:

Yeah, I heard the fictional spring-enhanced Panthera tigris from the 100 Acre Wood got caught doing one of those and ended up doing some hard time.

Upon calling for help from long time friend Winnie the Pooh, the bear’s first response was one of incredulity:

“I can’t believe it. It’s Tigger on the inside.”

    … I’m sorry.
