J and his amazing friends Jason and Richard “Sharpo” Sharpe are here to start with a bang and end with a whimper. The three first talk about the explosion that rocked the Portland neighborhood that JJ lives in (they are fine, don’t worry) and JJ shares a story of what could have been tragedy but was just full of human kindness. Then the three kinda set forth on the task at hand. Sharpo tries to tell the others what all those anime and tokushu memes mean! The episode is plagued with technical issues as the internet hasn’t fully gotten over being all exploded.

Great episode again, guys! Moar Sharp-O!!! The back-and-fourth between all three of you really made for a good listen. I really do want to hear more about what Sharp-O has to say about Sailor Moon. I’ve really only seen the first season, but it’s a very important show to me. I thought it was amazing when it would come on Toonami when I was a kid. But it was also the first time I really encountered gender stereotype prejudice. I didn’t understand why it wasn’t ok for me to watch it just because I was a boy, but for better or for worse it’s always been a part of my makeup.
It doesn’t look like Angel Beats is streaming of Netflix right now, but I really do recommend searching it out. It’s gorgeously animated, and the whole series always had me either rolling with laughter or choking down a welling lump from the feels.Another interesting one i recommend checking out is Revolutionary Girl Utena. The synopsis is essentially ‘She’s a prince looking for her Princess.’
Another good spooky kinda supernatural horror title I recommend is Hell Girl. It’s a little formulaic at first, but I think the ending is just crazy
And don’t sweat my last name. I can barely say it myself. “Gall-Bald-Own” is the right way if you pronounce it in Spanish I believe, but I can’t do it most of the time. Guh-Bald-Den is fine. There’s nothing you could do to it that a telemarketer hasn’t already
I watched Cardcaptors and no one said shit (probably because there was already enough ammo to pick on me with lol)
But I wasn’t going to say much about Sailor Moon, just using it as an example of the genre that Madoka Magica belongs to. Which itself was just another example of Gen Urobuchi bucking trends when it came to established genres leading into my explanation of Kamen Rider Gaim. It’s a rich tapestry of tangential bollocks haha

it may be the place I grew up in. Hispanic culture is very testosterone-driven. But yeah, Yours is a voice that fits in nicely with/against JJ and Jason’s haha.

I voted for Sharp-o to keep up SHIELD but I watch all of them except Arrow, Westworld and Gotham. I seriously about fell down when he said Legends was his favorite. (favourite?) I was surprised to see it even got a second season. Wentworth Miller and Brandon Routh are the only reason I stayed with it. Everyone else (well mainly the Hawks and the main antagonist) are such terrible actors it is distracting. I thought about maybe replacing him if he did leave SHIELD, but I am lazy and don’t know where he gets those wonderful GIFs that make his articles pop so well!
