Hi guys, Sharp-O back once again with another Mint in Box and this brilliant starting point for the new Fortnite range from Jazwares gives a little more bang for your V-Buck, with a couple extras that add to the play value over the regular Solo Mode figures.

Fortnite: Battle Royale is a bona fide global phenomenon, with a smash-hit online video game that recently celebrated it’s first birthday and 78.3 MILLION players monthly. It’s fair to say that people are ravenous for merch and now Jazwares have dropped their expansive range of Fortnite: Battle Royale figures and playsets that emphasise both the customisable player characters and the building aspect in a unique way.

I’m going to run through some of the awesome products on offer from Jazwares and give you my thoughts.

Llama Drama Loot Pinata – RRP 24.99

Let’s kick-off with a fantastic starter set for the line, modelled after the famous Llama Loot Pinata, that includes the exclusive Rust Lord figure; a 4-inch figure featuring 14 points of articulation. This was a mainstay skin I used in-game for a while so I can definitely see myself picking this up, especially because it also comes with 4 Back Bling, which can be attached to any figure in the range and would pair well with the Squad Mode 4 Figure Pack! There’s also an assortment of 10 weapons and 8 building materials that interlock to form two exclusive styles of graffiti sprays.

Squad Mode 4 Figure Pack – RRP 34.99

Squad up and get ready to drop with this awesome assortment of some of the most popular skins in the game; namely Rex, Cuddle Team Leader, Brite Bomber, and Ragnarok! Each comes with an associated harvesting tool and wood display stand that can be used with other building materials. Also included are the Heavy Shotgun, Dual Pistols, Semi-Auto Sniper Rifle and Scoped Assault Rifle weapons modelled after the in-game models.

Molly is joined by the cool-internet-nerd-squad of Joseph Scrimshaw, Vixy & Tony, Marian Call, Seth Boyer, Josh A. Cagan, Nicole Dieker, The Mongrel Jews, Kiri Callaghan, The Doubleclicks, and Kevin Murphy. Between them they round out Thanksgiving vs. Christmas which was recorded last year in front of a live audience. The album contains the full comedy show and 11 tracks of original songs who’s topics range from pumpkin spice latte to Doctor Who to Hanukkah.

First of all, it’s great to hear Molly backed by a band with strings. She has always been a wonderful solo musician but it adds a breath of fresh air to hear her accompanied by such a rich sound. However, while she features heavily in the show it’s very much an ensemble piece with highlights ranging from Marian Call’s manic work in the kitchen, Joseph Scrimshaw’s snarky narrator, and Kevin Murphy’s cameo as Santa Clause who (or is it whom?) tells us all to get bent.

This is the sort of concept that we don’t see much of anymore. It’s an old fashioned variety holiday show that you might have gotten in the 60s and 70s but is kind of seen as the domain of someone like Michael Bublé now. While the theme may be dated this show remains modern due to the sardonic wit of its cast and with lots of knowing nods of over-the-top enthusiasm.

Molly Lewis, despite making music for around ten years now, is still relatively early in her career. For someone in their mid 20s to be able to write, and pull off, a full show as polished as this one is incredibly impressive. The show’s topics are purposefully scattershot and sometimes bizarre but they make sense within the modern landscape of the internet community. I especially recommend you listen to Molly’s song demos on the expanded album’s special features.

So if you’re looking for a musical comedy album about Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Hannukah (and who isn’t?!) this has to rate at the very least in the Top 3 examples of that very specific genre.

Now that Thanksgiving Day has just passed it is officially full-on Christmas season
And that means Winter time.
For me Thanksgiving Day is the last calendar-stop of the Fall season before we get into
all the tinsel and lights and
evergreens and snow (real and artificial), music and mulled wine.
And I do love ALL that shit.
But I still wanted to do a send-off strip to what is still my favorite season, I only wish it started sooner.
So long Autumn, I feel we hardly saw you this year.
