I understand what you're saying about Dan Slott's Spider-Man, I just disagree with it.
Personally, I don't enjoy the choices he has made with Otto taking over Parker's body (and the creepy consequences that come with it) and I even tried Amazing #1 where Peter comes back and still had a gut reaction of "ew".
It's just not for me. Some of it is the artists involved and some of it is Dan Slott's writing style. I'm enjoying what Bendis is doing with Miles Morales. That may give you an idea of what kind of Spider-Man stories I enjoy reading more and our difference in tastes.

I think it was Aaron who was more disparaging but I threw you under the bus, too, because why not. Sorry if I was being a bit prejudge-y there.

The first time Cap tosses his shield in the second movie (Death Too Soon! -- what a title) and hits a guy is so hilariously awful. I love it.

Okay. You are right and you are wrong.

Yes, no one holds a grudge like a fanboy. I admit, the idea put forward in that shitty story made me lose faith in the ability of the current Spider-Man talent. My frustration was at an editorial that seemed to have no idea of what made good stories or interesting characters. I felt they were lazy and took the easy way out. So you are 100% correct to call me on what is a rather silly stance. (I still kinda feel this way, but I also realize it is silly) However, I have begun reading Superior Spider-Man and have begun dipping my toes back into the Spider-Man stories. I want to enjoy them, I truly do and the idea of what they are doing with Ol' Otto is interesting.

I don't remember what we said about him in this episode, other than I forgot that Superior was in The Avengers. But I am giving it a shot and will report back in the future.

I am totally down with Reb Brown. I kinda love those things.

I started reading Superior Spider-Man precisely because I fucking loathe Peter Parker so much. Little did I know that the entire story would turn out to be an examination of how Spider-Man, and Peter Parker specifically, works so amazingly as a hero: that in spite of all his shiftless whining and regressive tendencies, Peter Parker is the hero who never gives up, even with the weight of the world against him.

Far be it from me to force something down your throats that you'll patently dislike from the premise alone, but Dan Slott is genuinely writing what ten years from now will likely be remembered as one of the greatest Spider-Man runs of the character's history. And yet you two consummate Spider-Fans refuse to read it because of a shitty JMS story that took the shittiest character in comics and made him slightly shittier. Sure, "One More Day" was a garbage story, it'll always be a garbage story, but Spider-Man got better, guys. Spider-Man got so much better. And remember, that's coming from a guy who could not hate Peter Parker more.

As for requests, I still want you guys to watch the Reb Brown Captain America movies.
