As far as the Doc Oc stuff goes, I have to agree with Aaron. Granted, I haven't read as many Spidey books as either of y'all but, self-contained in the film, it muddies his motivations up so bad that it just gets grating after a while trying to pin down his character. Molina's performance is good, sure, but that doesn't excuse crappy screenwriting and a failure to convey how the Doc/arms relationship works.

Also, Doc's wife is a total example of women-in-refrigerators syndrome. She serves no real purpose in the movie other than to be killed off, pushing Doc into villainy (even though I don't think she's ever even mentioned again after her death and never explicitly played into his motives for completing his experiment); always thought that was really insulting and a waste of a character.
