The Lord of the Rings isn’t an allegory (a term not restricted to the Bible, by the way) for nuclear war. While published after the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the books were primarily written prior, well before atomic fears gripped public imagination. Moreover, the books aren’t an allegory for anything, by Tolkien’s own protestations, and he rather disliked allegory as a literary device on the whole. Which is funny given how close he and C.S. Lewis were as friends.

I have pretty much the opposite thing in that Fahrenheit pretty much makes no sense to me whatsoever, in that it’s not just shifted up from C or that there’s like 4 F to every one C or something, it’s just that it grows in a weird exponential way or something? I don’t get it
anyway great episodes back to back and I can’t remember if it was in this one or the last one, I guess both? But Cabin in the Woods might have ruined horror trailers for me now, because I thought the Texas Chainsaw remake trailer -had- to be a joke until I realized they were serious.
