I had some time to think about whether or not there were any straight-up English “hero” characters in movies, and I guess you were kind of right! It kind of goes in cycles between spies and criminals.

I am happy to accept this as part of my cultural heritage! I think the closest from Britain towards the american-style hero was probably Sean Connery? But that was quite a while back. Jason Statham is maybe arguable but I don’t think of his roles as being “heroes” so much.

Maybe Clive Owen? Some of his stuff probably comes close. Anyway this is a long post again but thanks for another great episode! It was really interesting and informative and Elizabeth is always one of my favourite co-hosts. I guess I need to check what happened to my iPod because there was a bunch of weird electrical interference towards the end (this is a joke there was no actual problem with the file) – but yeah a really great episode! Also as a man in my early twenties I am glad that I come across as too young I guess!

Sorry that I haven’t made any more videos for the podcast in a while, my camera broke last year and I haven’t been able to afford a replacement since it’d also mean upgrading my computer to handle HD footage. But, when that happens, I’ll probably make some other videos and then maybe get around to it!
