Hello and welcome back to DOOM!’s exploration of the Comic Book film genre hosted by Aaron Fever and JJ Hawkins.
This month we stay in the 90’s with one of the most important movies of the era, Blade! Not only is it a Wesley Snipes powerhouse performance, it showed that even a “B” list character could be treated with respect and earn box office gold.
Blade is so bad ass….

Not even a Dawson’s Creek over the shoulder shot can make him look weak.
Ah, 90’s angst. Look at how hard he is angsting against that machine.
So, what comic movies were missing was a grizzled country singer songwriter? Who knew?
A good character actor can steal a movie. This guy comes real close. Watch him and just enjoy how fully he is invested. Excellent work.
